Calvin Johnson will do what he can to keep Ndamukong Suh
By Evan Massey
Detroit Lions star wide receiver Calvin Johnson will do what he can to help the team keep star defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh this offseason.
Ndamukong Suh is going to be a very intriguing free agent to keep an eye on throughout the upcoming offseason and the Detroit Lions are going to do whatever they can to convince him to come back. There are going to be plenty of teams with the same attitude of being willing to do whatever it takes to sign him.

Lions superstar wide receiver Calvin Johnson has made it clear that he would like Suh to return, and said that he will do whatever he can to help Detroit convince him to return.
“I’ll do whatever I got to do,” Johnson said.
Detroit was able to get into the playoffs this season, but ended up falling to the Dallas Cowboys on the road in the first round. They had quite a few controversial calls go against them down the stretch of the game, and it was a rough way to end a season to say the very least. Despite that, they have confidence that they have put together the type of team to get back there next season.
Suh was a huge part of the Lions’ improved defense, and would be missed in a big way if he does ended up signing elsewhere.
During the 16 regular season games that he played this past season, Suh racked up 53 tackles and 8.5 sacks. He is a huge body in the middle of the defensive line to help stop the run, but also has the athleticism and speed to get the quarterback as you can see from his sack total.
At 28 years of age, this is likely the last contract that Suh will sign during his prime. He will more than likely get a very lucrative long-term deal, and the Lions cannot afford to watch him leave. Suh isn’t going to give the Lions a hometown discount and he is more than willing to leave if he doesn’t get the contract offer that he is looking for.
Perhaps Johnson will be given a chance to help convince Suh to return to Detroit. They were two of the main leaders for the team this past season and both know the value that the other possesses. Whether the Lions ask Johnson to talk to Suh or restructure his deal for more financial flexibility for a higher offer, Johnson will likely be willing to do it.
