Interview Reveals That Ryan Grigson Was the One Who Kicked off the Investigation

Does Bill Belichick adhere to the philosophy that “snitches get stitches?” We may be about to find out.

More from Indianapolis Colts

Troy Vincent, the NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations, confirmed in an interview that Grigson alerted the NFL that the Patriots might be tampering with the footballs in the second quarter of the AFC Championship Game. The full interview will air tonight on Showtime.

Grigson has, up to this point, declined to comment on Deflategateghazi, or whatever we’re calling it now.

It’s unknown at this point whether the Colts knew at the beginning of the game that this might be an issue, or if they figured it out during the game, such as when linebacker D’Qwell Jackson intercepted a Brady pass.

In any case, anyone who thought the Patriots were off the hook, or that the NFL’s year of scandals was over after the Patriots’ Super Bowl win, will continue to be proven wrong as more stories leak about the deflated footballs. As we all know, the deflated balls were the deciding factor in the Patriots’ 45-7 win over the Colts in the AFC Championship game; if the footballs were inflated properly, the Colts would have won the game by a minimum of 5,000 points.
