Cordell Broadus was down to UCLA and USC when he made his announcement on National Signing Day and the son of Snoop Dogg ended up picking the UCLA Bruins.

Growing up as the son of rap star Snoop Dogg, four-star wide receiver Cordell Broadus has been accustomed to being in the spotlight and he’ll continue living in the spotlight after committing to the UCLA Bruins.

Broadus spoke earlier in the recruitment process on his reality show Snoop & Son how it might be in his best interest to leave the state and make a name for himself, perhaps at Arizona State where he took an official visit in late October or LSU who was one of his finalists.

But when the 6-2, 195-pound receiver made his announcement on National Signing Day, the four-star receiver decided to follow his heart and stay close to home with UCLA after he said it felt like it was the best place for him and who had offered him as a freshman. He also noted the humility of head coach Jim Mora and his experience in the NFL.

His dad is a noted fan of USC and said it would be a dream come true if he committed to the Trojans, but I’m sure it’ll be a dream come true to see his son continue his dream and play college football for the Bruins and said “we Bruins now” moments after his son’s announcement and is even throwing away his USC attire.

Broadus transferred from California to high school power Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, NV. to play for Tony Sanchez who is now the head coach at UNLV and was the nation’s No. 222 recruit overall regardless of position, the No. 26 receiver and the No. 2 recruit in the state of Nevada.

He’s a big physical receiver who has great strength and size and can be a great target in the red zone where he can win jump balls and does a nice job of catching the ball away from his body.

His wide catch radius will help his quarterbacks at the next level, but then again his quarterback will be No. 1 QB in the 2015 class, Josh Rosen, so this could be a great combination for the Bruins over the next three-four years.
