Four-star offensive tackle Drew Richmond flipped from Ole Miss and signed with Tennessee.

Drew Richmond (Memphis, TN. Memphis University School) was the top target on the board for Butch Jones and the Tennessee Volunteers and after a relentless pursuit of the in-state product, the Vols got their man.

Richmond decommitted from the Ole Miss Rebels on Monday after taking an official visit to Tennessee the weekend before giving hope to Jones and the Vols that they would be able to flip the talented offensive tackle and No. 2 recruit in the state of Tennessee.

The 6-5, 310-pound offensive lineman ranks as the nation’s No. 53 recruit overall and the No. 3 offensive tackle, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Signing Richmond means Tennessee is poised to finish with a top-five class in 2015 after having a top-10 class in 2014 as Jones continues to build this program back one brick at a time. Building along the offensive and defensive lines is where Jones has focused his attention so landing Richmond can’t be overstated.

Last year Tennessee had to replace their entire offensive line and they were one of the youngest in the SEC so they needed an infusion of talent in the trenches to protect rising star quarterback Josh Dobbs and open up holes for rising sophomore running back Jalen Hurd.

Look out for Tennessee who could be poised to make a run at the SEC East title as soon as 2015.
