Five-star cornerback was the last domino to fall for USC on National Signing Day after the Trojans secured the commitment from the top cornerback in the country.

Iman Marshall (Long Beach CA. Long Beach Poly) was the headlining act for USC on National Signing Day after the Trojans got commitments from five-star defensive tackle Rasheem Green and high school teammate, four-star linebacker John Houston.

Marshall was the cherry on the sundae for USC after the nation’s No. 4 player overall and top recruit in the state of California committed to Steve Sarkisian’s team over offers from Notre Dame, Florida State, Michigan and LSU. He took official visits to each of these schools, but it was the local program that had an insurmountable lead.

His commitment five USC the nation’s No. 2 class, trailing only Alabama, but the way he announced his commitment is truly one of the more unique ways any recruit has made his decision public in this music video, courtesy of Bleacher Report.

The 6-1, 190-pound corner has great length for the position to match up against receivers who are getting bigger with every passing year and the instincts of a savvy veteran that belies his youth.

His straight line speed isn’t elite but his recovery quickness and change of direction speed is and his advanced football intelligence more than make up for any lack of straight line speed.

Marshall is also a willing and able tackler who can help in run support while playing like a shutdown corner.

He could form a lockdown secondary with rising sophomore and former five-star recruit Adoree Jackson starting at one cornerback spot next season. A Jackson-Marshall set of corners would give quarterbacks in the pass-happy Pac-12 fits for as long as they’re together.
