John Houston continued the pipeline from Serra high school to USC after committing to the Trojans on National Signing Day.
The USC Trojans had a fantastic signing day last year when they were arguably the big winners of the day with a few marquee commitments to give them the nation’s No. 10 class, a few short weeks after Steve Sarkisian took over as the head coach.

One of those marquee recruits from last year’s signing day was Adoree Jackson who was the top uncommitted recruit at the time and the Serra high product turned in a great freshman season and looks poised for superstardom.
Now it is one of Jackson’s former high school teammates who is ready to be his teammate again with the commitment of four-star linebacker John Houston (Gardena, CA. Junipero Serra) who signed with USC on signing day.
Houston committed moments after high school teammate and five-star defensive tackle, Rasheem Green committed to USC giving the Trojans two significant commitments as they continue to stockpile elite talent. He was drawn to USC for their academic and athletic success and proximity to his home.
He committed to USC after taking official visits to Oklahoma, Arizona State, Oregon and Miami, but the Ducks were the only real competition to the Trojans.
Houston is the nation’s No. 49 ranked player overall in the class of 2015, the No. 6 outside linebacker and the No. 7 recruit in the state of California, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
He participated in The Opening in the summer and had a career-high 147 tackles as a senior en route to being selected to participate in the Under Armour All-American Game in January.
