“I’m just here so I don’t get fined.” Those were the words spoken by Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch ahead of Super Bowl XLIX, during the event’s annual media day. Well, it would appear that he is in the clear, this according to reports by ESPN’s own Adam Schefter on Twitter. The NFL will not fine Lynch as he fulfilled all of the media obligations bestowed upon him by his contract.
Lynch’s refusal to directly address the media has been well documented throughout the years. It seemed to, however, come to a head this past season, when Lynch repeatedly neglected to give relevant answers to questions from reporters. We had moment such as the ever so classic “yeah.” Who can forget when he flip-flopped and said “nope?”
Marshawn Lynch complied w/ obligations to attend media sessions at Super Bowl and will not be fined, per NFL spokesman Michael Signora.

Following his actions on media day, Lynch responded with another classic. “You know why I’m here.” It was affirmative, direct, and let you know the man’s prerogative for the ensuing five minutes of availability.
But what Lynch had not done was give the media an explanation for his actions throughout the season. Well, leave it to “Beast Mode” to give us all a little bit of closure, while at the same time, not really doing so at all.
