Five-star defensive tackle Rasheem Green committed to the USC Trojans during National Signing Day.

Rasheem Green was believed to be a strong lean for the USC Trojans and that perception turned into a reality on National Signing Day when the five-star defensive tackle committed to Steve Sarkisian’s club.

He committed because he thinks he can have a big impact at USC and thinks the program is on the rise.

Green (Gardena CA. Junipero Serra) comes from the same high school that produced freshman phenom Adoree Jackson in last year’s class and whose commitment served as the catalyst for USC having a strong signing day and finishing with the nation’s No. 10 class.

With Green in the fold the Trojans are poised to finish comfortably inside the top five and possibly likely as high as the No. 2 class when the dust settles and all the announcements from their targets are made official and signed letters of intent are faxed in.

His high school teammate, linebacker and four-star recruit John Houston committed to USC as well moments after Green’s decision.

Green is the nation’s No. 23 recruit overall regardless of position, No. 5 defensive tackle and the No. 6 recruit in the state of California. He had 46 tackles, 21 tackles for loss and six sacks.

With the scholarship restrictions no longer impacting their recruiting efforts, USC is poised to once again run the state of California and the Pac-12 so long as Sarkisian and his coaching staff can develop the elite talent and maximize their potential.
