David Moyes has confirmed that he had to ban fries at Old Trafford because he felt some Manchester United players were overweight.

David Moyes was accused of many things during his time as Manchester United manager – terrible tactics and losing the dressing room were among the many accusations. Only now, Moyes has confirmed that one other accusation was true – the banning of fries.
In his recent autobiography, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand wrote that many players were angered by the Scot’s decision to ban a long team tradition of eating fries.
David Moyes has finally hit back at Ferdinand by saying that he had no choice:
“Yes, I did ban chips,” Moyes said. “It was because a couple of the players were overweight and I didn’t think chips were good for their diet.”
We’re taking a guess that one of the players Moyes was concerned about was definitely the now departed, Brazilian midfielder Anderson.

When Arsene Wenger changed the diet program of Arsenal, it worked wonders but Moyes may have been out of line on banning something as sacred as fries. After all, the facts don’t lie:
