Here are my turbo FanDuel lineups for February 6:
Point Guards:
Bargains:
Marcus Smart, Celtics ($4,900): Smart is on quite a roll in the retooled Celtics starting lineup. He has been over 20 fantasy points in five of his last six games, and even broke into the 30ās against Denver on Wednesday. While he likely wonāt do that against the 76ers tonight, donāt rule it out. Especially if MCW doesnāt play.
D.J. Augustin, Pistons ($7,200): Augustin is becoming one of those guys that you only use when the matchup is right. He put up huge numbers against Toronto, Miami, and Houston, but struggled against Miami and Philadelphia. Tonight the matchup is right. He gets the Nuggets, who have been quite the mess lately. I wouldnāt expect another 45+ fantasy point outing from him like he did against Toronto, Miami, and Houston, but I could see him being in the 30ās. That makes him worth the price.
Worth The Cost:
Michael Carter-Williams, 76ers ($8,500): MCW went wild on Denver on Tuesday, scoring 44.6 fantasy points in 34 minutes. Expect about the game output tonight against the Celtics. Marcus Smart has improved his game by leaps and bounds, but he is by no means an elite defender. At least not yet. MCW was a terror for opposing teams when Tony Wroten missed time earlier this year. He should step right back into that role with Wroten done for the year. UPDATE: MCW is questionable. Check back before tipoff!
Brandon Knight, Bucks ($7,900): Knight racked up 44.4 fantasy points against the Lakers in his first game back. His quad is fine, and he has another great matchup against Houston tonight. I would not be a bit surprised to see him with 40 fantasy points again.
Russell Westbrook, Thunder ($11,200): Westbrook will cost a pretty penny, but he does get to take on the same Pelicans team that he torched for 59.2 fantasy points on Wednesday. Westbrook has 126.4 fantasy points in his last two games. He may even be a bargain at this price. He is producing 5x value at the second highest price in the game!
Risky Plays:
Ricky Rubio, Timberwolves ($6,500): Rubio played very well in his second game back on Wednesday. He scored 25.1 fantasy points in 23 minutes. His minutes will keep increasing little by little, but donāt expect his production to tonight. He has a very tough matchup against Memphis tonight. With so many other options available, you donāt need to gamble on Rubio tonight.
Larry Drew, 76ers ($3,500): If MCW doesnāt play, the 76ers will be really thin in the backcourt with Tony Wroten out for the season. That provides an opportunity for Drew to step in. He has played well off of the bench in his lsat couple of games, putting up more fantasy points than he did as a starter the last time Carter-Williams was out. He is a sneaky play if you find yourself need to go really cheap.
My Lineups:
A: Westbrook and Drew ($14,700)
B: Augustin and Smart ($12,100)
Next: Should You Spend On Harden?
Jan 29, 2015; Orlando, FL, USA; Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo (34) during the second quarter of an NBA basketball game against the Orlando Magic at Amway Center. Mandatory Credit: Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports
Bargains:
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks ($6,400): Giannis is averaging 27.5 fantasy points per game over his last ten games. He has been over 35 in each of the last two games. He is playing at the level that he has shown he can right now. He also has a great matchup against the Rockets coming up tonight. He has a great chance to extend his streak of 35+ fantasy point games.
O.J. Mayo, Bucks ($5,100): When he is firmly entrenched in the rotation, Mayo has proven that he can be a fantasy asset. He even scored 10.2 fantasy points in 11 minutes against the Raptors on Monday before being ejected. He has been close to a fantasy point per minute over his last dozen games. So long as he can stay on the court, he will produce for you.
Worth The Cost:
James Harden, Rockets ($10,800): Harden has a great matchup against the Bucks tonight. We have all seen what he can do to weaker teams on the perimeter, He even put up games in the 40ās against Chicago, Detroit, and Dallas; teams that are decent on the perimeter. So long as this game doesnāt turn into a blowout, Harden is a great bet to end up over 50.
Tyreke Evans, Pelicans ($8,500): Yes, Westbrook torched him on the defensive end, but Evans still put up 33 fantasy points on Wednesday. That was his second lowest output in his last seven games. That gives you an idea of what kind of roll he is on. Even at 33 points, that is nearly a 4x value. He should be able to do that again tonight agianst the same team.
Risky Plays:
Avery Bradley, Celtics ($5,100): Bradley has done very well as the starting SG in Boston. So why is he a risk tonight? Itās all about the matchup. Philadelphia has defended the perimeter rather well lately. On top of that, Bradley has been far from a consistent producer. He has played at least 30 minutes in each of his last nine games, but his fantasy output has fluctuated from 11 to 34.2 over that span. That is between 2 and 6.5x value. That is too risky for me, especially on a night when most of the league is in action.
Klay Thompson, Warriors ($7,800): He is too reliant upon scoring to be a constant asset in daily leagues. Especially when his price gets up in this area. The Hawks defend the perimeter rather well, so I donāt really trust Thompson tonight. He has only been over 30 fantasy points once in his last four games, and that was against the Suns. Wait until he heats up again before playing him in daily leagues.
My Lineups:
A: Antetokounmpo and Mayo ($11,500)
B: Harden and Eric Gordon ($16,900): Gordon is still putting up fantasy numbers in the mid-20ās. That shouldnāt change against the Thunder.
Next: Can You Trust Kevin Durant?

Small Forwards:
Bargains:
Trevor Ariza, Rockets ($5,300): Ariza is back on track after a couple of subpar outings. He is still just a play when the matchup is right. It is tonight against the Bucks. He may not get into the 30ās like he did against the Bulls, but there is a good chance that he goes in the mid 20ās, which would be good enough for at least 4.5x value. If you have to go cheap at both SF slots, Ariza is one of the better options.
Khris Middleton, Bucks ($6,400): Middleton has put up 88.2 fantasy points in his last two games. He faces a weaker opponent tonight in Houston, but Trevor Ariza does a decent job on the defensive end. It isnāt fair to expect him to be above 40 points again, but he should be at least in the mid 20ās, which is a solid 4x value.
Worth The Cost:
Draymond Green, Warriors ($7,100): Green has three straight games of over 30 fantasy points, and has been over that mark in five of his past six games. The only one that he wasnāt was against Utah, who has been one of the best teams in the league defending PFās. Green will have his hands full with Paul Millsap, but he could sneak his way into the 30ās yet again.
Robert Covington, 76ers ($6,300): Covington has been on fire his last two games, putting up 74.2 fantasy games against Denver and Cleveland. Tonight he gets the Celtics who might be without Tayshaun Prince yet again. If they are, Covington has an even better matchup. I donāt really think it matters who guards him in Boston. The thing that has increased his fantasy output most recently his that he is finding other ways to stuff the stat sheet. He has been over 20 fantasy points in eight of his last nine games. The only exception was Memphis, and that is understandable.
Risky Plays:
Kevin Durant, Thunder ($10,700): Durant was upgraded to probable after the shootaround this morning, and is expected to start tonight against the Pelicans. This looks like a really good matchup, as the Pelicans wont have Anthony Davis or Eric Gordon chase him around. Tyreke Evans is still playing point, so that leaves Dante Cunningham to deal with the MVP. The only thing that worries me is that he has only played one game since his toe started bugging him back on January 26th, and he put up only 27.4 fantasy points in 37 minutes against Memphis. But if you feel like rolling the dice a little, Durant could be a nice play tonight.
Andrew Wiggins, Timberwolves ($6,600): Wiggins has a tough matchup against Memphis tonight. He has had an up and down season anyway. His last ten games have been no different. He has been between 15.5 and 42.7 fantasy points in that span. Playing a rookie is always a risk. Playing a rookie against a defense like Memphis borders on foolish.
My Lineups:
A andĀ B:Ā Covington and Middleton ($12,700)
Feb 4, 2015; Salt Lake City, UT, USA; Memphis Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph (50) reacts during the second half against the Utah Jazz at EnergySolutions Arena. Memphis won 100-90. Mandatory Credit: Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports
Power Forwards:
Bargains:
Josh Smith, Rockets ($6,100): Smith has actually outscored Motiejunas over the last five games. He has averaged 31.2 fantasy points over that span. He is getting plenty of playing time with Dwight Howard still out, and is the slightly more reliable option that Motiejunas right now. He also has the higher upside.
Donatas Motiejunas, Rockets ($5,800): Motiejunas just keeps racking up games of more than 20 fantasy points. With Dwight Howard out, there are plenty of minutes to go around in the Houston frontcourt. Motiejunas is a lock for 30 minutes a night, and has only been under 20 fantasy points once in 2015. He has a good matchup against Milwaukee, who are still beat up in the frontcourt. The Bucks have been going with Jared Dudley at PF. That looks really good for Motiejunasās chances tonight.
Worth The Cost:
Zach Randolph, Grizzlies ($8,700): Randolph just keeps right on posting fantasy points in the 30ās. 16 straight games to be exact. Now he gets to take on the Timberwolves, who despite returning to health, are still not that great defensively on the interior. Randolph will eat Gorgui Dieng and Thad Young alive. I expect him to be well above 30 in this one as well, likely into the 40ās.
Greg Monroe, Pistons ($8,200): Yes, that is a bargain tonight. There are a lot of high-priced options at PF. Monroe has a great matchup against Denver, who has been brutalized up front by teams with size. Detroit might be the biggest team in the league up front. Monroe has only had two games under 30 fantasy points since the beginning of January. He could produce as much as some of the higher priced options at PF tonight against the Nuggets.
Risky Plays:
Anthony Davis, Pelicans ($11,400): Serge Ibaka did a great job on Davis on Wednesday, holding him to āonlyā 23 points and eight rebounds. That left his fantasy output at 39.6. that is a great night for most people, but it is only a 3.5x value for the highest priced player in FanDuel. You need more than that from Davis to make him worth his cost. It likely wonāt happen against Ibaka and the Thunder.
Paul Millsap, Hawks ($8,000): His matchup against the Warriors looks pretty good on paper, but Millsap has been under 30 fantasy points in each of his last three games. You can understand it against the Wizards and Pelicans, but against Philly? Golden State will throw Draymond Green, David Lee, and Marreese Speights at him all night. There was a time where I would have said 5x value is likely tonight, but I doubt it is. 4x is attainable though, which probably makes him worth the risk despite his recent dip in production.
My Lineups:
A: Smith and Jared Sullinger ($12,700): Sullinger has a good matchup against Philadelphia, and has played well over his last couple of games.
B: Millsap and Motiejunas ($13,800)
Next: Go Big Or Cheap At C?

Center:
Bargain:
Steven Adams, Thunder ($4,400): Adams put up 24 fantasy points against this same Pelicans team on Wednesday. If you need to go cheap at center, Adams is easily the best option. He has averaged 20.2 fantasy points per game over his last ten games. That is nearly 5x value!
Worth The Cost:
Al Horford, Hawks ($8,400): Horford could be a bargain at this price against the Warriors. They are rolling with Andrew Bogut at center. Horford could have a monster night against Bogut. He has been over 40 fantasy points in three of his last four games, and has been over 30 in each of his last 12 games. Horford has a legitimate shot at 5x value tonight.
Andre Drummond, Pistons ($8,400): While Drummond has battled inconsistency most of the year, he has been on a tear over his last three games. He has averaged 38 fantasy points per game over that period. He has a great matchup tonight against the Nuggets, who are still going with a combination of Jusuf Nurkic, Javale McGee, and J.J. Hickson at center. McGee is the only one that might be able to keep him from going nuts, but I doubt it. Drummond is likely the best option if Whiteside sits.
Risky Plays:
Nikola Pekovic, Timberwolves ($5,800): Pekovic is still playing less than 30 minutes a game, that that will likely continue forĀ a while as he was experiencing some soreness in his ankle earlier this week. He has done fairly well when he in the game. When you factor in that he has to face the Grizzlies tonight, he is best left alone, as is most of the rest of the Timberwolves team.
Gorgui Dieng, Timberwolves ($6,700): His minutes have taken a hit with Pekovic back since Thaddeus Young has taken over at PF. He is still producting fantasy numbers in the 20ās with his decreased minutes, but that is only a 3x value. You need more than that if you want to win.
My Lineups:
A: Drummond ($8,400)
B: Adams ($4,400)
