The Denver Nuggets are looking to make some trades before the February 19th trading deadline, and it appears that point guard Ty Lawson is available at the right price.

Ty Lawson and the Denver Nuggets are once again in the middle of a disappointing season, and there are quite a few trade rumors surrounding them as the trade deadline continues to move closer.

Brian Shaw hasn’t been happy with his team’s effort, and no one has job security at this point in time. There are some players that have more security than others, but at this point in time even the best players are available for trade. According to a report from Fox Sports, Lawson himself is available for trade if the right deal presents itself.

Obviously there would be quite a few teams interested in acquiring Lawson if he truly is available. He has been a borderline star since coming into the NBA, and is a consistent double-double threat in points and assists.

Through the 48 games that he has played in this season, Lawson has averaged 16.4 points, 10.0 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game. His shooting percentages haven’t been too amazing, but they are solid at 43.7 percent from the field overall and 34.1 percent from behind the three-point arc. Lawson is also a very capable defender, averaging 1.7 steals per game.

If he is indeed on the trade block, he will be a name to watch as February 19th continues to move closer. There are plenty of teams that need a point guard around the league, and Lawson is one of the best.

At just 27 years of age, Lawson still has plenty of basketball left in his prime. Any team that decides to pay the price to acquire him would have their franchise point guard of the future.

Even though Lawson is available for trade, it will all come down to what type of value the Nuggets have put on him. More than likely, they are asking for quite a bit in return for him. They aren’t going to deal him just to make a trade, but they would deal him if they are getting a fair deal back that helps them in the future.

It appears that the trading deadline is going to be very busy this season with plenty of rumors leading up to it. Lawson is just one of the high-profile names that has been mentioned in trade talks. Expect this to be the busiest trade deadline that we have seen in recent history.
