One couple took their appreciation for National Signing Day announcements to a new level with the reveal of their baby’s gender.

The first Wednesday in February is a holiday for college football fans who anxiously await announcements from the nation’s top recruits and letters of intent are faxed on National Signing Day.

With the announcements of the elite five and four-star recruits shown on ESPNU throughout the day the uncommitted recruits have been thinking of new and creative ways to stand out and gain some attention and maybe even a few laughs.

Whether it is by bringing out a live Bulldog puppy to announce you’ll be playing for the Georgia Bulldogs like Isaiah Crowell did a few years ago, Chris Warren flipping a coin to decide between Texas and Washington or Iman Marshall making a music video to announce he’s heading to USC, the bar has been raised pretty high.

The days of having three or four hate on a table and simply picking the hat of the school you’ll be attending is so understated that fewer and fewer recruits are following that tried and true method.

In a throwback to the old days one couple decided to borrow the national signing day style for the gender reveal of their baby by having one blue hat for Boy Tech and one pink hat on the table for Girl State.

Watch the reveal here.

What followed next was one of the sweetest and coolest things I can think of for a gender reveal. Who needs a cake with pink or blue on the inside when you can do it like this, right?
