Former Baltimore Ravens running back Jamaal Lewis cashed in on $50,820 dollars this morning as he auctioned off his honorary Super Bowl ring.

Former Baltimore Raven great Jamaal Lewis just let one big spender keep a piece of Super Bowl history.  Lewis who was a member of the Baltimore Ravens between the seasons of 2000-2006 put up for auction an honorary Super Bowl ring he received from Ravens owner Stephen Bisciotti following the teams win in the big game during the 2012 NFL season.

The ring sold for $50,820 dollars this morning through Golden Auctions to a Maryland collector.  Made of 10K white gold and with 3.75 carats worth of diamonds this Super Bowl ring has more than just sentimental value.

Lewis, who is now 35, has had issues with money recently filling for bankruptcy in Georgia, listing $14.5 million dollars in assets and $10.6 million dollars in debts in 2012.

Having one of the best all time rushing seasons with 2,066 yards in 2003 under his belt for the Ravens, and being a key player on another Ravens Super Bowl team as a rookie in 2000, may have also factored into this generous gift from the Ravens owner.  Lewis is also included in the Ravens ring of honor.

Following these highlight moments for the long time Ravens running back, Lewis went on to play three seasons for the Cleveland Browns where he totaled 2,806 yards.   Retiring from football following the 2009 season lewis then went on to be one of many players who filed a lawsuit against the NFL citing concussion issues.

Lewis did spend some time this season visiting Ravens games as an onlooker.  In his career with the Ravens Lewis rushed for 7,861 yards and 45 touchdowns.
