Adrian Peterson would like to return to the Minnesota Vikings next season after the NFL reinstates him from an indefinite suspension.

The NFL had a very rough 2014 season off the field, and one of the players that was suspended was superstar running back Adrian Peterson. He has been considered the best running back in the NFL for quite a few years now, and seeing him get into trouble away from the field was difficult for fans.

Despite all of that, he is expected to be reinstated this offseason, and the Minnesota Vikings are going to be excited to welcome him back. There have been rumors that Peterson could leave the Vikings, but he was asked about whether or not he’d like to return to Minnesota and “of course” was his answer.

Peterson played in just one game during the 2014 season. He has played in eight NFL seasons now, and has rushed for 10,190 yards and 86 touchdowns on 2,054 carries.

Needless to say, his numbers speak for themselves as far as how successful he has been throughout his career. It was very clear how much the Vikings needed Peterson this past season, and how much of their game plan he is each week. Without a running game, Minnesota’s offense simply isn’t going to be consistent.

Assuming he does want come back next season and the Vikings do keep him around, Peterson is going to jump right back into a huge role.

Teddy Bridgewater showed major potential this past season in his rookie year, and is expected to be even better next year. Adding in a consistent running game would make their offense much more dangerous. It would force defenses to respect the ground game, which would take a lot of pressure off of Bridgewater’s shoulders.

There is no question that the Vikings are heading in the right direction. They are putting together a very talented offense alongside of an improving defense, and are a move or two away from contending for a playoff spot.

It will be interesting to see how everything with Peterson goes down this offseason. They need to bring him back and be aggressive in free agency to have a chance at the playoffs next year.

Expect to see Peterson back on the field for Minnesota next year. The Vikings aren’t going to trade him away or cut him, and Peterson likely won’t want to leave Minnesota on bad terms. Peterson should be back on the field and proving once again that he is the league’s top running back in 2015.
