The Minnesota Vikings would like to bring back star running back Adrian Peterson next season if he can clear up all of his issues with the NFL.
Adrian Peterson played in just one regular season game in 2014, and is still suspended after he was accused of child abuse. He spanked his son with a switch, and left marks that a doctor found and reported.
There have been plenty of rumors surrounding whether or not the Vikings could consider getting rid of Peterson, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. According to a report from Mike Jurecki of Fox Sports, the Vikings would like to bring Peterson back next season if he can clear up all of the issues with the NFL.

It is widely expected that he will be cleared to play at some point fairly early on in the offseason. Peterson did say that he finally got a fair hearing about a week ago, which is a sign that things are heading in the right direction. Both sides need to stop trying to make things difficult on each other and need to focus on figuring out how to get him reinstated.

Minnesota desperately needed a more consistent running back this past season, and rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater cannot wait to have Peterson back on the field next year.
Not many running backs make the type of impact on a game that Peterson can make, and Peterson hasn’t had a quarterback with the type of talent that Bridgewater has. It is a duo that could be very dominant, but they need to figure out how to bring Peterson back first.
Throughout his eight-year NFL career, Peterson has carried the football 2,054 times for 10,190 yards and 86 touchdowns. He has fumbled 27 times, but has picked up an impressive 483 first downs. Most of that production has come without the help of a legitimate starting quarterback to take the defensive pressure off of the running game.
Bringing Peterson back would be the right move for the Vikings assuming he can figure out how to clear up all of the remaining issues. He has been the face of their franchise since he was drafted, and getting rid of him would be heartbreaking for the fans.
Expect to see Peterson get back on the field for the Vikings next season and get back to being the dominant running back that he has been throughout his entire career to this point.
