Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki doesn’t think his teammate has great fashion sense

The Dallas Mavericks may have a crisis on their hands. This is the kind of feud that can tear a contending team apart.

The first shot has already been fired: Dirk Nowitzki told Tim Cato of SB Nation that his Mavs teammate, Chandler Parsons, has “horrible” fashion sense.

“I think his fashion is horrible but then again he tells me I dress like an old man,” Nowitzki told Cato. “We think he dresses like Justin Beiber so if you’re into that stuff I guess you can vote for him [in the All-Star game fashion show]. If you like some grown man stuff, some slacks, some button downs, then I’ve got him beat.”

Ya burnt, Chandler Parsons!

Parsons is a participant in the All-Star Game fashion show, which is a thing that’s happening, apparently. The first-time event will take place on Friday as part of the All-Star weekend festivities, and will also include John Wall, James Harden, and DeMarcus Cousins, along with four other as yet unnamed players.

But apparently Nowitzki doesn’t think Parsons should be involved with the fashion show, at least if he’s not going to do the decent thing and wear slacks and a button down like Dirk would.

At the risk of hyperbole, this could turn into a feud that could escalate quickly and ruin everything the Mavericks have built. Teammates feuding like this can be the death of a contending team in the Western Conference. This has Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens written all over it.

Maybe Dirk is upset because Mark Cuban doesn’t take him out to the clubs to celebrate? That’s what you get, Mark Cuban, for showing that kind of favoritism.

Nowitzki and Parsons need to resolve this very serious feud quickly before it tears the team apart. Maybe Parsons can show up to their next practice in slacks? Slacks seem to be the key to all of this. Anything to fix this, and fix it quickly, or else Dallas will turn out like the Cleveland Cavaliers. Except, you know, without the whole “having LeBron James” thing.

Fix this, Dirk and Chandler. Save your season while you still have the chance!
