The Baltimore Ravens are looking for a running back and may take a chance on the recently released Chris Johnson.

The New York Jets have cut the chord on Chris Johnson and it’s now on to the third team in two years for the former 2,000 yard runner.

With his release from the Jets, Johnson has now been on two rosters in two years and will make a third before the 2015 NFL season kicks off. Unlike Ray Rice though, who is a free agent with tread but a stigma, Johnson’s only problem is his inability to be consistent.

That won’t stop a team from taking a chance on him though, and he could stay in the AFC in 2015.

According to Manish Mehta from the New York Post, one landing spot to keep an eye on when it comes to Chris Johnson are the Baltimore Ravens.

Baltimore is an interesting choice, as they got great production out of Justin Forsett last season but it doesn’t appear that he is their long term answer at running back. Then again, Chris Johnson may not be their option over the long term either.

Teams like the Raiders, Vikings, Buccaneers and Jaguars could all take a chance on Johnson as an option and possible starter. There are also teams like the Steelers, Packers and Texans could take on Johnson at a low risk contract with high reward results in a running back tandem.

Either way, there is going to be interest in Chris Johnson this offseason and while he may not be the running back he once was, he will find work easier than people think.
