Slam Dunk Contest: Zach LaVine throws down Space Jam dunk (Video)

Minnesota Timberwolves are not a good basketball team, but Zach LaVine is pretty amazing and he’s even better at dunking than anyone thought.
The NBA Slam Dunk contest was on Saturday night, and the show was stolen very early on by Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Zach LaVine. It’s hard to imagine that anyone from Minnesota can be athletic at any sport other than hockey, but Zach LaVine isn’t a midwestern kid, he’s intergalactic.

He very much proved that he was out of this world with his first dunk of the Slam Dunk contest, in which he channeled the film Space Jam and sort of corrected the things the film did wrong.
That’s not to say he made the film better in some way, but the phrase ‘Space Jam’ is now finally associated with something actually cool rather than something we’re forcing to be cool.
Just check out what LaVine called ‘The Space Jam Dunk’, which was one of the best dunks of het night.
It was indeed time to slam, and everyone wanted to jam after that LaVine dunk and it was something that energized the building.
Zach LaVine is a star on the rise and if there is one guy that we’ll remember after this contest, it’s going to be LaVine — win or lose.
