Felix Hernandez posted a clip of Stephen Curry’s winning effort in the 2015 Foot Locker Three Pointer Contest.
Last night, the game skills contests took place as part of NBA All-Star weekend. Everyone, from celebrities, to athletes from other sports, like Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Felix Hernandez, was in attendance. It was an evening where youth shined, and excitement rained down heavy in a jam packed Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York. Three names emerged from the pack of talent as the winners of each competition. Patrick Beverley won the Taco Bell Skills Challenge. Zach LaVine threw down a monster assortment of jams to take home the Sprite Slam Contest crown. And Stephen Curry finally put it all together in his fourth try and captured the Foot Locker Three Point title. The latter effort was captured on the Instagram account of the aforementioned Hernandez.

“King Felix,” as he is affectionately known as by baseball fans, appears to appreciate a good display of basketball prowess. Why else would he drop that kind of cash on it?
That’s not what matters though. What does is that the former Cy Young Award winner and perennial candidate shot video of Curry’s masterful performance, an effort that included a stretch of thirteen consecutive makes from the arc, while accounting for an astounding 27 points in the final round. The term “contest” became misleading after watching Golden State‘s no. 30 dominate.
It was the kind of performance the brings back memories of the late Pete Maravich, as many have likened the 2015 NBA MVP candidate to a modern day “Pistol Pete.” Check out the video Hernandez posted on his personal Instagram account below, and make sure to stick with FanSided for ongoing coverage of the 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend.
