With the trade deadline nearing, multiple teams are interested in Denver Nuggets’ guard Arron Afflalo.

At 20-33, the Denver Nuggets fall further and further out of the playoff race as the weeks go by. With this in mind and plenty of useful pieces to championship contenders, Denver could blow up their roster for prospects and/or future draft picks.

There have been ongoing discussions for many Nugget players, including point guard Ty Lawson just recently. One name that has been tossed around several times is shooting guard Arron Afflalo.

ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne reports many teams have talked with the Nuggets about Afflalo, but nothing serious yet.

There have been other teams linked to Afflalo in the past, but some of those seemed to have lost interest.

Christopher Dempsey of the Denver Post reported the Nuggets wanted a first-round pick in return for Afflalo, but with his the possibility of him opting out of his contract this summer, some teams may not be interested.

Afflalo is averaging 14.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per game this season and would certainly be a help to a contender needing a wing scorer. Denver doesn’t seem too desperate to ship away its players, and may not settle for anything less than a first-round pick.

If the Nuggets don’t budge on what they are asking for, moving Afflalo at the deadline will be difficult.
