The Indianapolis Colts released defensive tackle Ricky Jean-Francois on Monday, but he may not be on the street long with the Philadelphia Eagles a potential suitor.
With the NFL Scouting Combine wrapped up and free agency right around the corner, NFL front offices are beginning to rid themselves of players who no longer fit in the team’s plans for the 2015 season.

One casualty on Monday was Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Ricky Jean-Francois who was released on Monday afternoon after two seasons with the team.
Jean-Francois, 28, began his career with the San Francisco 49ers after they drafted him in the seventh round out of LSU in the 2009 draft and signed a four-year deal to join the Colts two years ago.

He recorded career-highs in sacks with three and tackles with 34 while starting 13 games in 2014, but found himself a cap casualty as the Colts look to remake their roster for another run at the Super Bowl.
Coming off his best season and with a couple of good seasons left in him at 28, the market for the interior defensive linemen is expected to be an active one, according to agent Drew Rosenhaus, via NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport cites the Eagles interest in Jean-Francois when he was a free agent two years ago, but it remains to be seen if Chip Kelly will be interested him this time. ESPN’s Adam Kaplan mentioned how close Jean-Francois to becoming a member of the Eagles two years ago.
Funny how things work out: Jean-Francois was set to sign with Eagles two years ago before Jim Irsay sent his plane to pick him up.

The Eagles have Fletcher Cox developing into an All-Pro talent in the middle of their line, but you can never have too many god defensive linemen, so it bears monitoring to see if the Eagles will push to sign the free agent defender.
Eagles fans, do you hope your team pursues Jean-Francois to beef up the middle of the defensive line or should they spend their money elsewhere?
