Detroit Cass Tech coach Thomas Wilcher made nice with Urban Meyer, who he slammed for not telling recruit Mike Weber about Stan Drayton leaving.

Detroit Cass Tech running back Mike Weber is a top ten back in the nation and he had to make a tough decision between Michigan and Ohio State on National Signing Day and went with Ohio State only to hear the next day that the Buckeyes’ running back coach Stan Drayton was leaving for the NFL.

Weber was hurt by the news and his high school head coach Thomas Wilcher was very offended and ripped Urban Meyer in a radio interview saying he didn’t give them any respect.

According to Cleveland.com, Wilcher and Urban Meyer have made amends.

“We did talk,” Wilcher told Cleveland.com about a recent interaction with Meyer. “And he is the person I thought he was and the person I believe him to be. I believe our relationship is stronger now.”

“The most important thing about my ‘misleading’ part was that I didn’t really understand the process of recruiting behind Ohio State,” Wilcher explained after talking with Meyer. “I understand the ambition Urban Meyer has, I understand the integrity of Urban Meyer and I understand that he’s about the welfare of the child and the wholeness of what the athletes need at the university. He instilled in me that no child will be left behind in his program.”

Mike Weber had over 2,200 rushing yards in his senior year at Cass Tech and 29 touchdowns. He’ll sit behind prolific Ohio State back Ezekial Elliott who is planning to leave after the 2015 season with Ohio State, and if all goes according to plan, it should be Weber’s team the next year.
