Former Brazilian international and Ballon d’Or winner Kaká has been named as the first captain of Orlando City SC in what will be their debut season in the MLS this year.
Kaká is undeniably the most exciting signing to the MLS this season, and has enjoyed his soccer with his boyhood club São Paolo in recent months, before joining up with the new MLS franchise in their pre-season tour.

The 2007 Ballon d’Or winner is one of the greatest attacking Brazilian players of the last two decades, in a generation which has no shortage of attacking flair.
Orlando City SC, under the management of head coach Adrian Heath, have signed Kaká as the club’s first designated player and are hoping to achieve success in their debut season by building their squad around the Brazlian attacking midfielder.
Kaká has hit the ground running and shown glimpses of the exceptional technical ability which won him his litany of individual club honors, and scored in Orlando City SC’s last two friendlies against FC Dallas and New York City FC respectively.
Orlando City SC and New York City FC kick off their inaugural MLS seasons as the most recent expansion clubs, and the two sides will meet on Sunday, March 8 in Orlando’s Citrus Bowl.
