Ricky Jean Francois will visit the Seattle Seahawks
By Ryan Ratty
Ricky Jean Francois will continue his free agency tour with a visit with the Seattle Seahawks.
Impactful defensive tackles are always needed in the NFL and one free agent teams are extremely interested in is Ricky Jean Francois, who has played the last two years of his career with the Indianapolis Colts. Before that, Jean Francois started his career with the San Francisco 49ers.

As a rotational player, he was with them for three seasons, but even though Jean Francois was brought into Indianapolis to be a stopgap type of player, he turned out to be much better than expected. With his play over the past two years, many teams have taken note and the free agent market around him is buzzing at the moment.
Earlier today, it was reported earlier that Jean Francois and his agent has been active in their free agency search. The 49ers and the Washington Redskins have already reached out to his camp and they have already lined up visits as well. It has now been reported that Jean Francois has lined up a visit with the Seattle Seahawks as well.
Pro Football Talk was the first to report the news.
Considering that Tony McDaniel wasn’t anything special this past season and Kevin Williams will be 35 years old when the 2015 season rolls around, the Seahawks really do need to upgrade their defensive tackle position and although Jean Francois isn’t the hottest name on the market, he’s a solid player and he would fill a need.
A couple of weeks ago, it was reported that Ndamukong Suh had interest in joining the Seahawks. However, Jean Francois would be a much cheaper option. Despite Seattle’s interest, the 49ers and the Redskins both make sense for the veteran as well. San Francisco released Ray McDonald last year and Justin Smith is considering retirement.
Scot McCloughan, Washington’s new general manager, was a huge fan of Jean Francois when he was apart of the 49ers’ front office a few seasons ago. Although Seattle and Jean Francois would be a great fit, the Seahawks might have to shell out more money than expected to bring him in.
