Will Smith might be one of Hollywood’s biggest actors but he still has his rapping skills. Smith rapped the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song on the Ellen show.
Will Smith is one of the coolest people living on planet Earth.
For anyone who ever may try to clown him all he needs to say is this:
In West Philadelphia, born and raised, in the playground is where I spent most of my days.”

That iconic phrase is the beginning of the Fresh Price of Bel Air theme song. A song that Smith, and his best friend DJ Jazzy Jeff made popular during his time in the 1990’s.
Almost two decades later, that song is still fresh, and because of the popularity of it Smith did something bold on Tuesday – he sang it on the Ellen Degeneres show.
Smith started signing the track, but he wanted to know if he was in the presence of real fans in the building. As Smith was singing the popular song, he made sure that he pointed the microphone at the crowd to make sure that the audience knew the lyrics to the song. Not surprising but everyone in the building was standing to their feet and rapping with the native West Philadelphia native.
However at one point during the song, everyone in the crowd forgot the lyrics to the song (Seriously?). Maybe it was just the wrong crowd, because a lot of people (myself included) can recite the entire first verse in their sleep.
Smith said thank you as he proceeded to take his seat on Ellen’s show and then continued to promote his newest movie, Focus.
At the end of the day the fact that Smith was still rapping that song is pretty awesome. The song is one of the reasons why Smith became such a memorable actor. When Smith got his break working as the lead character on the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, a lot of people got to see his true talent as an actor.
The show marked the beginning of Smith’s acting career, and when that show began Smith was one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. However now after all of a ton of box office films including Bad Boys, Independence Day, Men in Black, Ali, and Hitch, Smith has gotten the recognition as an actor that he deserves.
“I looked at my kingdom, I was finally there, To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air.”
Just like the ending lyrics of the song, Smith’s career is definitely on a throne.
