After getting cut by the Baltimore Ravens Friday, Chris Canty isn’t ready to hang it up just yet
Players in the NFL have been getting cut by their respective teams left and right Friday. One of those cut was veteran defensive end Chris Canty. Canty recently said that he was unsure if he would be playing another season in 2015.

However on Friday, Canty said that he plans on playing in 2015.
In an interview with the Baltimore Sun, Canty reaffirmed his desire to play this year.
“It’s the business of the NFL, and we move on,” Canty said, “I loved it here. I thanked Steve Bisciotti, Ozzie Newsome and John Harbaugh for giving me an opportunity to be part of the great tradition of this franchise.
Canty joined the Ravens in 2013, after spending the majority of his career with the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants.
Wherever Canty ends up, he can provide veteran leadership for a defense in need of it. John Harbaugh released a statement after the release where he thanked Canty for the maturity he brought the team.
“We are a better franchise for having Chris Canty with us the last two years,“ Harbaugh said, “He added maturity and leadership. Chris played well and played a lot of snaps for us, especially last season. He was an outstanding contributor to our playoff season in 2014.”
The Ravens currently are trying to figure out a way to re-sign defensive tackle Haloti Ngata, while being up against the cap.
Days like today are the business side of things that teams and fans alike hate. Canty is one of the good guys in the league, and if another team picks him up, he will provide the team with more than just play on the field.
