The Buffalo Bills linebacker thinks he’ll be ready to go when training camp arrives

The Buffalo Bills had their first winning season since 2004, when the team went 9-7 this past season. One of the big reasons for the Bills success this past year was their defense, which ranked fourth in the league. This year, they will be getting back an important piece to make their defense even more formidable.

Linebacker Kiko Alonso had a stellar rookie season in 2013. Before the 2014 season however, Alonso tore his ACL in an off-season workout.

The Bills defense however was one of the big surprises in the league as they ranked fourth overall and shutdown Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers in consecutive weeks.

After the season, head coach Doug Marrone exercised an out clause in his contract, and the Bills were left without a coach. They hired former New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan to take over.

Ryan is known for his ability to build imposing defenses and buffalo with the likes of Mario Williams, Marcell Dareus and Kyle Williams is the perfect team for Ryan to work with.

With the Bills get Alonso back, they will be an even bigger nightmare for opposing offenses every week.

Alonso believes he will be ready to go by training camp too.

“I anticipate being 100 percent before camp,” Alonso said in an interview with the team’s website, “By camp, I definitely feel I’ll be at 100 percent. I feel very good with where I’m at. By camp I’ll be full go.”

If Alonso can be healthy, the Bills might be able to pose a threat to the New England Patriots in the AFC East next season.
