The Indianapolis Colts are looking to make a splash in free agency, and would like to sign superstar defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.
Ndamukong Suh’s name has been flying around over the past few days, and things have picked up even more since the Detroit Lions chose not to place the franchise tag on him. There are plenty of teams who are already showing interest in signing him, and the Indianapolis Colts can be added to that list of teams.
We know the Redskins are going to have competition for Ndamnukong Suh. Sources say Miami and Indy want in. #Colts #dolphins

One of the Colts’ biggest issues was stopping the run last season, and Suh would be a quick fix to that problem. At 6’4″ and 305 pounds, Suh would be a major plug in the middle. The Colts are a move or two away from being Super Bowl favorites, and signing a star defensive tackle like Suh is exactly one of the moves they need to make.

During the 2014 season, Suh ended up totaling 53 tackles and 8.5 sacks. Those numbers don’t look huge, but his presence on the line is enough to force teams out of their normal game plans.
His athleticism allows him to get to the quarterback as well as wreak havoc on the offensive line and plug up the run game. There aren’t many defensive linemen that are capable of making as much of a difference as Suh, and that has earned him the title of being one of the most dominant defenders in the NFL. Unfortunately, he has also earned the reputation of being a dirty player as well.
Ryan Grigson has been known for being a very aggressive general manager, and that will be the case once again this offseason. The Colts have plenty of money to spend, and they are looking to sign one of the high-profile free agent running backs as well. DeMarco Murray and Adrian Peterson are two names that have been mentioned for the Colts.
It will be very intriguing to watch the Colts work their magic in free agency. Jim Irsay is known for his love of dramatic moves, and he has quite a few different chances to do just that this offseason.
Expect to see the Colts get mentioned quite often in rumors surrounding Suh. They have the money to make a deal happen with him and they have a major need at the position. Indianapolis could also offer Suh the chance to compete for a Super Bowl, and be a major part of it.
This seems like a good fit for both sides, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see it end up happening when everything is said and done.
