The final step in the LeSean McCoy trade is coming to an end as he and the Buffalo Bills are nearing an agreement for a new deal.
The Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills shocked the world a few days ago when they agreed to trade running back LeSean McCoy for lineback Kiko Alonso.
A huge reason as to why the Eagles dumped McCoy off was because of his massive contract for the upcoming season, and it looks like the star running back is willing to work out a different deal with his new team.
Sources tell @FOXSports1 LeSean McCoy and the Bills are close on a new contract. Expected to be agreed to before trade is official Tues.

McCoy is currently scheduled to make $10.25 million this year with a cap hit of nearly $12 million. That would make McCoy the third-highest paid running back this season behind only Adrian Peterson ($13 million) and Marshawn Lynch ($12 million).

As much as McCoy would have liked to get all that money next year, his contract has no guaranteed money in the final two years of the deal and the total money goes down each year. So even if it looks like he takes a big pay cut this year, it could pay off big time in the following couple of seasons.
This is without a doubt the best move for McCoy since you always have to be looking ahead. What if McCoy tore his ACL at the end of the upcoming season and was never the same again? The man would lose out on a whole lot of money.
That’s why it’s most likely we will see McCoy and the Bills restructure the final years on his deal rather than do any type of extension – although that is not out of the possibility either.
It’s still incredibly bizarre to think of McCoy as a Bill, but that is the reality of the situation.
McCoy rushed for 1,319 yards and five touchdowns with Philadelphia last year.
