Better late than never: check out this chilling video about the magical championship run from the Ohio State Buckeyes in the first ever college football playoff.

It almost feels like ancient history, but just two months ago the Ohio State Buckeyes were dominating the first ever college football playoff en route to their seventh national championship — which is tied for ninth all-time.

A playoff system for college football is something most people have been pushing for a long time, and last year’s Buckeyes team represents everything that is great about that type of format and competition.

Ohio State dominated towards the end of the season and were impressive enough to be locked in as the fourth and final team of the playoffs.

Last year’s championship game would have been Alabama vs. Florida State if the same BCS format was still around, but the new four-team system changed everything and those teams were actually the first two eliminated.

Ohio State first shocked the world after beating the top-seeded Alabama, 42-35, to send themselves to the championship game against the Oregon Ducks.

It would be really nice to say that the title game was extremely competitive and close throughout, but the Buckeyes dominated the Ducks from start to finish and ultimately won 42-20.

It might be two months late, but the Buckeyes have finally released a chilling video of that game.

Incredible.

The Buckeyes are returning a lot of their key pieces for the upcoming season and will have a great shot at winning back-to-back titles.
