Reggie Wayne will consider playing in 2015, and is open to playing for another team other than the Indianapolis Colts.
Free agency is closing in, and will begin on Tuesday with quite a few big name players on the market. One new face to the market is former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne. Jim Irsay and the Colts decided that they will not be re-signing their veteran wide receiver.

According to a report from Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star, Wayne will consider signing with other teams and playing in 2015.
There is no question that Wayne is still capable of playing at a high level, as he showed last season with the Colts despite playing with a torn triceps muscle. He caught 64 passes for 779 yards and two touchdowns.
He did have some consistency issues, but at 36 years old and dealing with a serious injury it is more understandable. Wayne is still a very valuable piece for any team that decides to give him a new deal. Perhaps the Denver Broncos could show some interest in signing him with Peyton Manning’s recruiting help.
It would certainly be an interesting situation to see Wayne and Manning playing alongside each other once again. Denver has a spot for him if he decides to go that route with both Wes Welker and Julius Thomas potentially leaving in free agency.
Wayne likely won’t come back unless he would be able to compete for another Super Bowl ring. That is one thing that he would come back to pursue. He has one ring alongside of Manning and the Broncos are a very well-rounded team, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see him accept an offer from them.
All of that being said, it’s going to be very strange to see him playing for a team other than the Colts. He has meant so much to the Colts’ franchise and the city of Indianapolis, and it just won’t seem right to see him elsewhere.
Don’t be surprised to see quite a few teams come after Wayne when free agency opens up. He may not be a star anymore, but he is the type of veteran wide receiver and leader that championship teams need. If he does come back in 2015, however, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him end up in Denver with Manning.
Indianapolis is going to miss Wayne for quite some time, but they will move on and get past this situation just like they did when Manning left.
