Dana White picks Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao winner

Dana White, the president of the UFC, offers his take on the upcoming Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao fight.

UFC president Dana White appreciates a great fight, regardless of the sport. That is why the MMA promoter decided to offer his thoughts on the most anticipated boxing match in decades; Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao.

White has been outspoken about a ton of things. Whether it is UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey’s ability to humble virtually anyone, including a hypothetical match up with the aforementioned Mayweather, to performance enhancing substances within the sport of mixed martial arts.

Thus, it would seem like perfect sense to ask such an overwhelming entity what his thoughts are on combat sports’ most hyped event in years.

The follow video, posted online Sunday gives us a look at the insight provided by White himself.

Interesting. Uncle Dana appears to be a Mayweather guy.

Not surprisingly, the topic of footwork and speed comes to play, as well as punching power; something neither fighter is really known for at this stage of their respective careers.

It is a rather spot on analysis of what most insiders appear to agree on. If this fight had happened five years ago (when it really should have), the advantage swings in the favor of Pacquiao. Now, it appears to be Mayweather’s fight to lose.

White’s opinion, despite recommendation that it (along with most others) should be taken with a grain of salt, is somewhat credible. The man has an amateur boxing background prior to his role with Zuffa, the parent company of the UFC. He knows a thing or two about what it is like to step inside the squared circle.

Regardless of whether one echos the dude’s sentiments, this fight is likely to be a record breaker in terms of gross revenue. With PPV buyrates expected to soar past 2.5 million, Mayweather vs. Pacquaio should easily become the most watched pay per view broadcast in the sport’s history.
