NFL Rumors: 49ers want to re-sign Frank Gore
By Josh Hill
The San Francisco 49ers are confident that they will be bringing back Frank Gore this offseason before another team can swoop in on him.
Frank Gore is a free agent this offseason, but he may not be on the market for long. Despite being well past his prime in the NFL, Gore is a guy that many teams around the league would love to have, and the San Francisco 49ers are no exception to that notion.

According to 49ers owner Jed York, who spoke with the San Francisco Chronicle, the team is hoping they will find a way to bring back Frank Gore and such a thing is a scenario he very much sees happening.
"“We want him back,” York said. “I think he wants to be here. I know he wants to be here. And I think we’ll figure out a way to do it. We’ll definitely try. I think we’ll figure out a way. That’s my feeling.”"
Given his age and the milage on him over the years, there aren’t many other options for Gore that are better than San Francisco. He could go to a place like Minnesota, Indianapolis or even Green Bay and be part of a running back committee, but he has that already in San Francisco.
The only difference is, Gore is a legend with the Niners and he already has an established life in San Francisco. To give that up to go do the same thing in a new city with a new team makes little sense, but it doesn’t mean Gore will just roll over for any old offer that comes in from the 49ers.
Gore is still valuable in this league, and while it may seem like his best years are behind him, there may still be something left in the tank and someone is going to pay him to see if that’s the case.
