Westbrook’s ridiculous play has not only made him a real threat in the MVP race, but it’s helped push the Thunder to the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference, setting OKC up to be the most dangerous No. 8 seed in NBA history. It also might be increasing the chances that the Thunder decide to trade Kevin Durant next season.
Wait, what?
Former Portland Trail Blazers VP and current ESPN analyst Tom Penn floated around that idea during an interview on The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
Listen to Penn’s take on the situation below:
The idea of the Thunder trading away the 2014 MVP and the second best player in basketball next season seems almost unfathomable. But Penn is plugged in and has experience working in a front office, making this an interesting possibility to think about at the very least.
Durant is averaging 25.4 points (51.0 percent shooting from the floor), 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game this season.
