Matt Ryan has another weapon in Atlanta to throw to. Washington Redskins free agent wide receiver Leonard Hankerson appears to be the newest member to the Falcons offense.

Hankerson was drafted by the Redskins in the third-round of the 2011 draft and spent a majority of his final two seasons in Washington injured.
His best season in Washington came in 2012 when Hankerson played in all 16 games and caught 38 passes for 543 yards and three touchdowns.
Hankerson announced on his Twitter account that he was joining the Atlanta Falcons.
Hankerson missed most of 2014 after tearing his ACL in 2013. He appeared in just one game in 2014, but did not record a single catch.
Hankerson is still young and can perhaps improve as a Receiver in the Falcons offense if he can stay healthy on the field. He has the size to compete with other corners standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 211 pounds.
Playing alongside the likes of Julio Jones and Roddy White should open up the field for Hankerson to make plays. The Falcons were in need of another receiver after the team released receiver Harry Douglas.
The Falcons will feature an entirely new offense this season after the team hired Kyle Shanahan to be the offensive coordinator under new head coach Dan Quinn. Hankerson will be a familiar fit for the Falcons offense as he played under Kyle Shanahan in Washington.
The Falcons, despite their record, had a chance to win the NFC South going into the final week of the season last year. With the division still wide open, if the Falcons offense can stay dynamic and healthy, they will have a shot again at making the playoffs again this year.
Getting players like Hankerson that are familiar with the new system, will be helpful for Atlanta to learn the new system as quickly as possible.
