The Cleveland Browns need to fix up their secondary, and that might mean an offer for Brandon Browner.

The Cleveland Browns made an early splash in free agency by signing Josh McCown, but there are other issues that need to be resolved on the other side of the ball.

Defense is something the Browns need to keep improving, and that means possibly going after a former member of the Legion of Boom.

According to Mary Kay Cabot from the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Browns have interest in singing Brandon Browner.

"The Browns are reportedly interested in free agent cornerback Brandon Browner, who played for the Patriots last season."

With the loss of Buster Skrine to the New York Jets, the Browns need someone to run alongside Joe Haden in their secondary and right now Justin Gilbert does not appear to be that guy. Adding in Browner not only would give the Browns an extra option in the secondary, but it would give them a veteran who knows how to win.

Cleveland’s defense wasn’t terrible in 2014, but there was room for improvement. That could mean adding Brandon Browner, but it doesn’t mean the team is instantly fixed. Browner has a great pedigree though, spending his best years in Seattle and winning a Super Bowl with the Patriots this past season.

Browner is a great veteran addition that the Browns could use but it’s not a done deal by any means and Cleveland is hardly what you’d call a free agent destination.
