NFL Veteran Combine list released, includes notable NFL vets
The NFL Veteran Combine is set to start March 22 in Arizona and Michael Sam headlines the list.
The inaugural NFL Veteran Combine is set to start at the Arizona Cardinals practice facility where NFL free agents will be evaluated by NFL scouts. The list has been released and includes both veterans of the NFL and players like Michael Sam who are at least one year out of college and have no NFL experience.

The NFL Veteran Combine will serve to consolidate individual veteran free agent tryouts to one location, which obviously makes the process to evaulate veteran and young free agents easier for NFL teams who will have all results and video sent to them. Players will perform position specific drills and testing.
The combine will not be open to the public, however, NFL Media will provide fans with coverage of the Veteran Combine across all platforms including NFL Network where a one-hour special will take place on March 22 at 8:00 PM ET.
Notable players include Michael Sam, who was the first openly gay football player to be drafted in the NFL. He was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the 2014 NFL Draft, where he was later released after preseason play. Mike Golic Jr., center from Pittsburgh and son of ESPN Radio host Mike Golic will appear after he was waived by the Pittsburgh Steelers is 2013 and the New Orleans Saints in 2014.
Among popular running backs attending includes Michael Bush, Mikel LeShoure and Felix Jones who have all played and started for NFL teams. Bush was a solid running back for the Oakland Raiders when he finished with eight touchdowns in 14 games in 2010. He signed with Chicago in 2012 and then suffered a rib injury and was eventually released by the team. He also played for the Arizona Cardinals, but was cut in 2014.
Also included is linebacker Jamaal Anderson, who was selected eighth overall in the 2007 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons. He had 27 tackles and 2 sacks in his 2008 season before injuries plagued the linebacker and he was released by Atlanta in 2011 before bouncing around to several NFL teams and being waived.
