The Eagles are going to be busy this offseason. They have cleared out a lot of room under their cap and are ready to make moves on a number of players. If you have played in Oregon previously, then you obviously are on the radar of Chip Kelly and the Eagles.
Thurmond is one of those former Oregon players that finds himself working with Chip Kelly again. There is a total of 8 on the roster now with the addition of Thurmond to the team. Thurmond played with the Seattle Seahawks for 4 seasons before joining the New York Giants last season. He only played in 2 games for the Giants last season. In his 5 seasons in the league, he only has 1 interception on the books. He will be an injury concern. In his 5 seasons, he has only played in 36 games.
Chip Kelly was not afraid of taking the risk and adding Thurmond onto the roster. He will be hoping to get more than 2 games out of him and he will get the opportunity to work with Chip and Maxwell all over again. The team also have Kiko Alonso on their roster and he is another injury concern on defense. The team is putting a lot of trust on some players that have not been dependable in staying healthy. It will be an interesting season and could all go to waste with a few injuries.
