Dwayne Bowe visiting with the Cleveland Browns
By Evan Massey
The Cleveland Browns are in major need of help at the wide receiver position, and are reportedly set to visit with former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe.
Dwayne Bowe was released by the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this offseason, and is set to have quite a bit of interest on the open free agent market.
One of the teams who are trying to zero in on him are the Cleveland Browns, who are in need of receiving help and in need of a guy like Bowe. According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, the Browns and Bowe met this weekend and had what seems to be a productive dinner.
Signing Bowe would be a huge step in the right direction for the Browns. Following Josh Gordon’s one year suspension for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy once again, they are very light on wideouts. Cleveland certainly doesn’t have anyone that would be capable of being a legitimate number one receiver on the roster.

It wasn’t too long ago that Bowe was considered one of the league’s top wide receivers, but he has had a couple disappointing seasons in a row. There is no question that Bowe can still turn that around and get back to being a big threat for his next team, and the Browns could give him the chance to be the number one receiver again.
Cleveland isn’t the ideal place for a fresh start, but they can offer him the best chance at proving himself once again. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him get a one-year deal, although he could be looking for long-term security as well.
