Hip Hop artist, Method Man, warns Marcus Mariota not to “jinx” himself like Johnny Manziel did with a celebration gesture

Method Mad, famous for his part in the rap group the Wu Tang Clan, gave Marcus Mariota a little bit of advice as the 2015 NFL draft approaches. Don’t be like Johnny Manziel is apparently in Mariota’s best interests according to the famous hip hop artist.

Two weeks ago, everyone was sure that the Philadelphia Eagles were going to take Marcus Mariota in the NFL draft. But after the Eagles traded for Sam Bradford, they claimed they weren’t interested in the rookie quarterback from Oregon.

Then the Tennessee Titans came forward and expressed their own interests for Mariota. This is all just the beginning on what seems to be the drama-filled future in the NFL for the 2014 heisman winner.

With all the hype surrounding the 2015 NFL draft and which quarterback will go where, everyone is asking will Marcus Mariota be a bust. Method Man thinks that Mariota will be just fine as long as he doesn’t imitate Johnny Manziel and his antics.

The rapper is referencing Johnny Manziel’s signature celebration where he makes a “get money” gesture with his hands. Not only has this attracted unwanted attention to the Cleveland Browns quarterback, but is just one of the many troubles Manziel has had since coming into the public spotlight as the star quarterback for Texas A&M in 2012.

Despite big expectations, Manziel had an awful rookie season for the Browns. He played in just two games, throwing for 175 yards and a completion percentage of just 51.4 percent. Manziel’s most recent public announcement came as he told the media he would be going to rehab. He has asked that the media let him have his time in the off season to recover with some privacy. While many question marks surround the future of Manziel, he will definitely need quite the bounce back season if he plans on extending his career in the NFL.

Mariota will have the same type of question marks around his name until he starts to perform. Method Man shows his respect to Mariota in this interview with TMZ. But makes it clear he shouldn’t do things like Manziel did in his rookie season. While Mariota doesn’t have quite the history with trouble like Manziel had entering the NFL, he should still be careful.

One of the many challenges a rookie quarterback faces in their first season is adapting to the professional football way of life. If his past at Oregon is any indication of what his future holds, Mariota should be just fine.
