New Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan believes that his team got a lot stronger with the moves that they have made so far this offseason.

Rex Ryan was hired early this offseason to be the new head coach of the Buffalo Bills, and the franchise is already beginning to make big moves. They have made it very clear that they are ready to shake off the recent lack of success that they have had, and get back to being a legitimate playoff contender.

Buffalo fans are already getting excited about the improvements that their team has made, and Ryan is excited as well.

“I feel pretty good about what we’ve added,” Ryan said. “So we’ll see. … I think the conference really got stronger. If anything, it currently doesn’t look – if you can say winners and losers in free agency – obviously New England had to cut quite a few players. So obviously they don’t look as strong as they did. I certainly hope they’re not. They just got through winning the Super Bowl. But I believe the rest of the division really has got stronger. I don’t think there’s any doubt about that. I truly believe that we got stronger.”

Needless to say, the Bills have taken a huge jump forward in the division outlook. Acquiring star running back LeSean McCoy is obviously the biggest move that they made, especially with their currently quarterback situation.

He is going to be one of the main focal points of the Bills’ offense, and Ryan has never had that type of talent at the running back position. McCoy can expect to see plenty of usage on the ground as well as through the air, and the offense will live and die with his production each week. They are obviously hoping that the passing game will be a threat, but that still remains to be seen.

E.J. Manuel is still widely expected to be the opening week starter, but acquiring Matt Cassel was a solid move by Buffalo. He will be a great mentor and veteran presence in the locker room, but can also step up and start if needed.

Signing Percy Harvin is a bit of a question mark still, but it is a low-cost, potential high-reward type of signing. There is no doubt that he still has the ability to get his career back on track and become a legitimate threat for the Bills. He is certainly worth the risk for Buffalo, and could end up having a big role with the team.

All of that being said, Ryan has the right and should be excited about his teams progress so far this offseason. They still have some question marks obviously, but they are a much better team than they were when the offseason began.
