More arrests for the Baltimore Ravens; Bernard Pierce gets DUI
After all of the allegations that surrounded former Baltimore Ravens‘ RB Ray Rice, it seems the team hasn’t learned their lesson. This time charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, RB Bernard Pierce was arrested on Wednesday in Towson by Baltimore County police.

Police said that the 23-year-old NFL player was in a 2014 Ford Mustang when he was pulled over for speeding. The incident happened at Dulaney Valley Road and I-695 just before two in the morning.
Police also stated that the officer that pulled Pierce over suspected him of being under the influence of alcohol. This prompted the officer to conduct field sobriety tests to determine whether or not he had been drinking. After Pierce failed the tests, the officer arrested him. He was then taken to the Towson precinct for processing, later being released.
Although Pierce was cooperative, he was still charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired due to alcohol, exceeding maximum speed (55 mph in a 30 mph zone) and driving a vehicle in excess of reasonable and prudent speed on the highway.
A team spokesman, Chad Steele, released a statement to The Baltimore Sun:
“We are aware of the situation and learning more about it. We take these matters seriously.”
This isn’t the first sign of a Baltimore Raven getting arrested this offseason. The team has already seen three players arrested, including Pierce. The other two players, defensive tackle Terrence Cody and defensive back Victor Hampton, have both been released. Cody was arrested for animal cruelty and faces 15 counts, while Hampton was arrested for a DWI after driving over 100 mph.
The Baltimore Ravens hope to make an example out of these arrests and also hope they don’t see anymore incidents like this happen.
