Jacob Tamme is on the Atlanta Falcons’ radar.
Over the past few years, one of the better known No. 2 tight ends in the NFL has been Jacob Tamme. Over the course of his career, Tamme has made his living with Peyton Manning as his quarterback. In his seven-year career, Tamme has been a member of the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos. Although Dallas Clark was the starter in Indianapolis and Julius Thomas was the starter in Denver, Tamme was always a reliable backup and a redzone threat. In 2015, however, Tamme might not be playing with Manning again, as he could go elsewhere in free agency this offseason.

According to Mike Klis of the

. At this stage of his career, it’s unclear which direction Tamme will go in. He’s yet to win a Super Bowl and at 30 years old, Tamme would probably want to play for a team that can compete for a Super Bowl. Despite that, Tamme has never been a starter in his career, and by going to the Falcons, Tamme could finally become the feature tight end for an offense and a good offense at that.
Although their offense is like the Broncos’ the Falcons have a group that truly is star-studded. With guys like Julio Jones and Roddy White, and a quarterback like Matt Ryan throwing the football, Tamme would be able to come in and have some success. Tony Gonzalez retired after the 2013 season and his absence was greatly missed, as the Falcons used an inexperienced player in Levine Toilolo. Tamme is by no means a top-ten tight end, but he is veteran player who has played in multiple offenses. Tamme shows ability in both the running and passing game. By coming to Atlanta, Tamme would be in position to succeed.
