We see frustration and anger get to a lot of tennis players in the middle of a match. However, it’s not too often we see someone completely break their racket over their own body. Legendary football and baseball player, Bo Jackson, was one case of this when he broke a tennis racket over his own head.

The match was played in Drummondville, Canada, Bester’s representing country. Coming into the match, Jenkins was the likely favorite to win due to his better past. The 24-year-old had a career record of 41-40 going into the match, winning 9 of his last 22 matches over the past twelve months. That record was compared to a 63-83 career record held by Bester, including 2-8 over the past year.

At the end of the match, the score stood 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(8) in favor of Philip Bester. Jenkins’ frustrations got the best of him and ultimately led to a defeat, a defeat that could be summed up with his broken racket.

Jenkins now holds a 9-13 record over the past year, including a .500 career record with 41 wins and 41 losses. On the other hand, Philip Best improves to 3-8 over the past year, including a less-than-average 64-83 career record.
