There is also the issue of Peterson’s contract that makes it hard for any team looking into acquiring him via trade.
Earlier it was reported that Peterson’s agent denied having dinner with the Vikings at the owners meetings in Arizona.
If the Vikings are trying to reach out to Peterson, it sounds like the running back is done being receptive to their invitations.
According to Albert Breer, Peterson still wants out and the problem is Kevin Warren, who the Vikings promoted to COO recently.
Warren was the Vikings Executive Vice President of Legal Affairs and Chief Administrative Officer before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer.
It’s been alluded by Peterson that Warren was working against him last year. Promoting the guy that may have been against Peterson staying with the team during his legal battles makes it easy to see why Peterson reportedly wants out.
The issues between Peterson and Vikings seem to increase by the day and, at some point, the Vikings will have a decision to make.
The Arizona Cardinals have been linked to Peterson, but it’s been reported that his contract will not work with their plans. It’s also been reported that the Vikings have told Peterson’s agent that the team will not be cutting the running back.
It sounds like this thing will end one of two ways: Peterson stays or he is traded somewhere else.
Whatever the case may be, the Vikings latest promotion is not sitting well with the running back.
