Adrian Peterson turns 30 years old today and got a very awkward happy birthday message from the Minnesota Vikings.
The Minnesota Vikings and Adrian Peterson look to be headed toward a very ugly divorce with the perennial Pro Bowl running back not open to returning to Minnesota after a very trying year off the field.

Peterson only played one game last year for the only team heās ever played with after he was placed on the commissionerās exempt list while his legal issues stemming from his child abuse case were resolved. He avoided jail time for the incident which was hitting his son with a āswitchā but he remains on the exempt list and wants a fresh start.
Rumors circulated earlier this month with Peterson preferring to leave Minnesota and the Indianapolis Colts and Arizona Cardinals were among the teams to reportedly have mutual interest.
In the meantime, Petersonās agent and the team have broken off communication but that hasnāt stopped the Vikings Twitter handle from wishing him a happy birthday.
This isnāt awkward at all.
Of course things donāt get much more awkward, at least on Twitter than this, because this is like getting your soon-to-be-ex a gift for Valentineās Day or his/her birthday when you know youāre in the process of breaking up or getting divorced.
I guess if the two parties do move on and go their separate ways they can always remember what the two had and all the great memories they shared in a throwback thursday post.
