After much speculation, the Cleveland Browns are denying that they offered a first-round draft pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for quarterback Sam Bradford.

When the Philadelphia Eagles traded Nick Foles to the St. Louis Rams for Sam Bradford, many people were shocked the Eagles would trade for and take a chance on an oft-injured quarterback.

Even more shocking was after the trade when Chip Kelly said that the Eagles were offered a first-round pick for Bradford by an unnamed team.

Many didn’t believe the Eagles coach and thought he was trying to play up the level of his new quarterback.

Then speculation arose that it was the Cleveland Browns who offered a first-round pick for Sam Bradford. With the Browns annual quarterback problems, it made sense for people to connect the dots and link Cleveland to Sam Bradford.

Now it appears that Ray Famer, the general manager for the Cleveland Browns is denying reports that the team considered trading for Bradford.

Farmer could just be giving the usual PR-speak when denying the team’s interest but it is clear that Eagles intend to hold onto Sam Bradford, although knowing Chip Kelly, that could change in an instant.

The Browns let their only winning quarterback Brian Hoyer walk in the off-season and last year’s first round pick Johnny Manziel is currently in rehab working on his issues with alcohol.

The team recently signed veteran quarterback Josh McCown, who was released by Tampa Bay, to be the team’s new starter. McCown was released after an abysmal season in Tampa Bay that netted the Buccaneers the No. 1 pick in the draft.

The Browns issues at quarterback have been chronicled for years. Regardless of whether Farmer is lying about if the team didn’t offer a first-round pick for Sam Bradford or not, the team still does not have a long-term solution at signal caller.
