The Chicago Bulls have been without Jimmy Butler since the beginning of the month, but Butler returns to the Bulls lineup to face off against the Charlotte Hornets.
The Chicago Bulls have been absolutely crippled with injuries this year. First, Derrick Rose went down with his third knee injury in three years and then Jimmy Butler injured his elbow, sidelining him for 3-6 weeks. But just over 3 weeks later, the Bulls are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Jimmy Butler is officially back in the lineup, and it could not have come at a better time.
Thibodeau said Butler likely to go vs. Hornets.

The Bulls are in the middle of a heated playoff race. They currently stand as the no. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference, chasing down the Toronto Raptors and the Cleveland Cavaliers for that coveted no. 2 seed. The Bulls have been struggling without Rose and Butler this year. They have gone 5-6 without both in the lineup in the month of March. But as Butler returns, and hopes for Rose to be right behind him, things are really starting to get exciting in Chicago.
The only negative part about tonight’s game against the Hornets is that now their center, Joakim Noah is sitting out due to general soreness.

Joakim Noah (general soreness) is out.
Cameron Bairstow (illness) is out.
Injuries are always a frustrating part of sports. But with Butler getting back tonight and Noah’s injury not really a long term concern for the Bulls, they should be fresh when the playoffs start. The only question mark left hanging above the heads of Bulls fans is whether or not Derrick Rose will come back from a torn meniscus. Rose recently came out and explained where he was with the recovery process, but gave no real timetable as to when that might be. But as far as tonight goes, Bulls fans will get a glimpse at what playoff basketball might look like in Chicago.
