Say you score your first hat trick with your French soccer club in a 3-1 win over Lorient. You are given the game ball; it is your to do whatever you want with it. So what do you do? Sell it? Give it to a hall of fame or museum? Simply keep it? Give it to your club? If those are your answers, you’re not Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
On the other hand, if your answer was to autograph it, then buy it a first-class plane ticket to Sweden and buckle it in for the long ride, you are clearly Zlatan Ibrahimovic. And if you are, congratulations on the hat trick!
The PSG striker posted a photo to Instagram of the soccer ball, buckled in on a plane ride to his native Sweden:
This, naturally, invites a few questions. First of all, did Ibrahimovic autograph that ball for himself? Is there a scribble that reads “to Zlatan, nice job!?” Also, did he have to buy the ball its own seat? Is there some kind of airline discount for inanimate objects?
One thing’s for sure, I would have loved to be working on that plane ride. Did they have to offer the ball refreshments? These and many more questions, and the answers don’t seem to be coming.
