Never was that more clear than today when the Ravens’ official Twitter handle took a shot at the New England Patriots, after the NFL rules committee changed the rule for what makes a receiver eligible.
As seen in the captured tweet in that article from CBS Boston, the problem is the Ravens’ Twitter handle forgot how to spell “ineligible”. Originally, the tweet read “ineligable”, not “ineligible”.
So not only did the Twitter handle come across as petty, but also incompetent and unlearned. After awhile, however, the tweet was updated with the correct spelling.
The new rule states that teams must line up ineligible receivers within the tackle box: http://t.co/mxzYGZlK1O

At least the Ravens now only look petty.
The feud between the two teams has been bitter all offseason, after the Ravens–specifically head coach John Harbaugh–felt the Patriots tackle eligible plays in their divisional round game were “clearly deception”.
The phrasing of the new word seems more confusing than the rule it supersedes, but it is that players wearing eligible numbers (1-49, 80-89) ruled ineligible can only line up inside the tackle box.
So for now the Ravens can go back to being petty, and not have to worry about covering players wherever they line up.
